My new loom will be living in my son’s old bedroom. It is just big enough with oak floors, good light and some privacy from the rest of the looms which sit in our mail living space.
TC2 looms have very specific power requirements. The loom operates on electricity for the controllers and auto-advance and on air pressure for activating the individual heddles (which gives individual thread control for every pick). An electrician will be coming to install an outlet in the ceiling over the loom as well as an outlet for the air pump. We’ve decided to put the pump in the basement to manage the sound a bit. We will use PVC to get the air to the loom room. We may need to do other acoustical treatment in the basement but that can wait until we see how it goes.
Of course, our electrical panel is pretty full so we will need an additional panel to fit the new circuits in and while we have the electrician here we will add a few things for my husband’s shop in the garage and … you know how it goes. Nothing is simple. The good news is that will get under way this week.
